The Moral Code

It is a well-known fact that if you hammer away at an object long enough, it will eventually cave in. Force causes compromise when applied repeatedly. This truth is not only evident in the fundamental laws of physics, but it is also clearly visible in our society today. There was a time, not so long ago, when civilization relied on the moral code. Despite our various differences, we could always count on upholding a common set of virtues which banded us together. But with each passing day that code is eroding.

It has been attacked and replaced instead by a New Age culture that embraces an “anything goes” mentality. Go ahead, voice your displeasure against certain social issues that are diabolically opposed to the Word of God and notice the lack of support you will subsequently encounter. Or lobby in favor of policies that were instituted to maintain an orderly landscape and discover the subtle pushes of opposition toward anarchy. It may appear that this seismic shift away from morality has surfaced from out of the blue. However, most of this shift can be traced back to pieces of legislation that chipped away at our spiritual protection.

Most of this shift can be traced back to pieces of legislation that chipped away at our spiritual protection.

Decisions such as removing prayer out of schools and the media’s adoption of agnostic principles have aided in dismantling the moral code. As a result, many people have become confused about what they actually believe. Drawing a line in the sand has become difficult even for some believers. Please recognize that this is one of the enemy’s tricks. He understands the Bible too and knows that a double-minded man is unstable in ALL of his ways.

It’s time that you and I rebuild the walls of our moral code. Let’s stand firm on the Word of God and avoid succumbing to the ever-changing ways of this world. Hebrews 13:8 states that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings…” Adhering to this instruction is the only way to combat what is currently known as the status quo of this society.
