The Power of the Resurrection

What does the resurrection of Christ mean to you?

As a believer who has grown up in church, I must admit that at times it’s easy to overlook or take for granted the sacrifice of our Savior. We listen to powerful sermons, read the rich Word, and enjoy watching powerful plays that speak of our Savior’s sacrifice. However, our reverence for Christ can be shown not only in our actions, but also in the attitude of our hearts. Easter is more than just a day of celebration, but also an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the Resurrection.

Christ’s death, burial, and victory over the grave, has opened a door for us. As a result of His love, we can:

1) Have a Relationship.

The veil of the temple was torn in two when Jesus died on the cross. If we confess our sins and accept Christ into our hearts, we have full access to the Kingdom of God. Jesus is our High Priest who is for us and intercedes on our behalf. We have the privilege of knowing Christ and experiencing His power in our daily lives (Matthew 27:50-51).

2) Be Real with God.

Have you ever known someone who sympathized with your situation, but couldn’t offer any real help? We can have full confidence in our Savior because Jesus completely knows what we’re experiencing in this life. Since He has traveled along our journey, He is able to provide the best council (Hebrews 4:14-16).

3) Rise Above Circumstances.

When life becomes challenging, we’re often tempted to lose our focus. However, as we gaze at the cross, we can remember that nothing is too hard for God. Jesus was beaten, bruised, and rejected by those He came to save. Nonetheless, He fulfilled His purpose and guaranteed our victory in life and for eternity (Hebrews 12:2-3).

4) Receive A Reward.

The resurrection of Christ canceled our destiny of doom and destruction. He stood in our place and covered the payment for our sins. Now that we belong to Christ, we cannot imagine all of the great things that God has prepared for us. Our future grows brighter each day. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)

Christ showed His deep love for us by dying on the cross in our place. He rose from the grave and gave us power to live a life of joy and abundance. Nothing can take away our destiny in Him.

Reflect on the power of the resurrection and realize all of the blessings you’ve received because of His sacrifice. Thank Him for His unconditional love today!
