The Spiritual Warrior’s Guide to Defeating Jezebel [Review]

The Spirit of Jezebel has been a plague upon the Church time without mind. Many of us have encountered it at least once; perhaps we’ve even hosted it before. There are countless teaching materials by various ministers on the subject. Everyone wants to know “Who is Jezebel and how do I deal with her?”

Is she a he, a she, or an it?

Is she a person or a spirit? or both?

Is she a demon or a principality?

Is she like Delilah?

Is she after my pastor? my husband? me?

Is that co-worker of mine who has it out for me or that woman leading my prayer circle a Jezebel, or are they just ambitious and outspoken?

Jezebel. You think you know her, but you have NO IDEA.

As someone with personal experience with this spirit, time and time again, it behooved me to study about it. Why? Because the Bible says,

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (II Timothy 2:15)

We are not ignorant of [Satan’s] devices. (II Corinthians 2:11)

If the Bible tells us to not be ignorant of Satan’s devices, then God must be willing to teach us about them. The Spiritual Warrior’s Guide to Defeating Jezebel by Jennifer LeClaire is an excellent resource to that end.

In it, she answers many of the questions listed above. In my Goodreads review of the book, I stated,

Defeating Jezebel confirmed some things I already knew, connected some things I had not been previously able to, articulated some things I knew, yet could not express, and yes, taught me things I never knew before about this crafty spirit. I’m convinced most people don’t really understand the depth, layers, levels, intricacy, power, and meditated end of this spirit. Jennifer articulates Defeating Jezebel with wonderful prophetic accuracy and divine revelation.

Reconnaissance on Jezebel

Defeating Jezebel is not just a one-time read. You have to read it, and then read it again, and then “spot clean” by reading one section at a time on any particular topic you need a refresher course on at the moment. I can’t praise the book enough.

Yet what is most profound about Jennifer LeClaire’s book is that it addresses:

  • The roots of Jezebel (i.e. soul wounds such as rejection, bitterness, and unforgiveness)
  • The history of Jezebel
  • The purpose of Jezebel
  • The way to identify various levels of interactions with this spirit in your own life and the lives of others
  • How to minister to those influenced by this spirit.

Meet Jezebel’s Partner in Crime: The Queen of Heaven

I actually reached out to Jennifer a couple months ago because I was doing some research on the Queen of Heaven and her connection to the spirit of Jezebel. While on her website, I noticed that she mentioned this spirit and I’d never heard anyone else discuss it before. So I inquired about it and she told me to read the book. (Obviously, as wonderful as a conversation would have been on the topic–and yes, we did soon after chat about it–no author can put into a speech, sermon, or phone call, all of the revelation God gave them for a particular book project. It’s just not possible.)

Well, I read the book and it definitely, again, largely confirmed what I had already learned and taught me some new things about the Queen of Heaven–and her connection to the Spirit of Jezebel. (Lost at this point? Read the book!)

Jennifer utilizes her prophetic calling–the antithesis of the spirit of Jezebel–to truly break down and expose the doctrine of this feminized devil. It is an absolute must-read for any ministers and Christians serious about growing in the things of God. Order your copy of Defeating Jezebel today!
