While many of you may have just mastered summer’s hottest trends, it’s time to stock up on the Fall 2014 fashion trends. Fall is truly a fashionista’s favorite season–soft leathers, chunky knits, and cozy sweaters. I love the drama and comfort of Fall dressing. If you’ve opened any recent fashion magazine, you already know that there is no shortage of Fall trends to choose from. But some purchases will make better investments than others. Here’s a few Fall trends that you’ll want to get your hands on as the temperatures start to drop.

Dress Over Pants

One of the newest and quirkiest trends to emerge this Fall is wearing a skirt or dress over pants. There’s really not much to mastering this trend. All ages and body shapes with can play with this trend. Wear pants or jeans layered under casual or cocktail dresses, full midi skirts, and even pencil skirts. Just make sure your dress/skirt is at least knee length. If you go any shorter than knee length you’ll just look like you have on a long shirt.

Leather is the New Denim–Again

Leather is always my go-to for the cooler weather. If I feel the slightest bit of chill in the air my leather moto jacket is coming out. Leather moto jackets are a great addition to your wardrobe. It’s a timeless piece that can be dressed up or down. Don’t feel like you have to keep the leather around your arms and on your feet. Leather/faux leather skirts are plenteous in variety this Fall. Pair with a sweatshirt or a t-shirt for a modern look. Pairing with a button down will give you a more classic touch.

Robe + Coat = Robe Coat

Ever felt like wearing your house coat out for the day? Now you can, with the Robe Coat trend. Bundle up in a coat that ties and not zips this Fall. Plus, the robe belt cinches at the waist making it a very flattering look.

Extreme Turtleneck

Who needs a scarf when you’re rocking a giant turtleneck? Go ahead and dig deep in your pile of giveaway clothes and find the chunkiest turtleneck you can find. That would be the one you should wear this Fall. The bigger the better. Make the volume work for you by layering the chunky tops with sleek skirts and curve-hugging jeans.

Fur Real

What’s Fall without some fun fur? Clearly the most glamorous of all Fall trends, whether in the form of a coat or a cute little fur accessory. My favorite way to wear fur is choosing a fur vest. It looks chic and casual, elegant and flirty. You can wear a fur vest with jeans and boots. Always wear something light underneath your fur vest.
