The pulpits of the Western world are absolutely rife with this new replacement theology, acting as if the Church is the “new Israel” and the actual nation is just like any other. This is a doctrine of devils deceiving the elect in the last days. Nowhere in the Scripture can you find Jesus or the apostles supporting that belief, yet it persists. Our faith came to us through Israel, and they are as special to God as they ever were. So here are ten reasons why true Christians support Israel.
1) God will treat you how you treat Israel.
I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. (Genesis 12:3)
This is pretty self-explanatory, but suffice it to say what you do to Israel/the Jewish people will be done to you. If America votes to “split” Israel, America herself will be split. If America blesses Israel, God will bless America.
2) Abraham is the Father of our faith.
And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 8:11)
For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith….Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all… (Romans 4:13, 16)
Constantly throughout the New Testament, Abraham is referred to as the Father of our faith. Christianity is the upgrade of Judaism, not the replacement.
3) The Jewish feasts are the Feasts of the Lord.
You shall keep the feast of the Lord… (Leviticus 23:29)
You shall keep [the Feast of Tabernacles] as a feast to the Lord…It shall be a statute forever in your generations. (Leviticus 23:41 emphasis mine)
Many prophetic teachers like Apostle Renny McLean, Apostle Guillermo Maldonado, Dr. Perry Stone, and others all teach that the Church that must embrace the Feasts of Israel before Christ returns for His Bride. We won’t be complete without it.
4) We are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.” (Psalm 122:6, 7)
This one is also self-explanatory and is never once countered in the New Testament. NEVER ONCE.
5) Jesus was a Jew.
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham… Matthew 1:1)
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting. (Micah 5:2)
The Jewish people gave us Jesus! Jesus gave us the Gospel of the Kingdom! What better reason to stand with Israel than that?
6) The 12 Disciples were Jews.
These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matthew 10:5, 6)
Jesus answered him, “I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet…” (John 18:20)
The ministry of Jesus, and thus, of His disciples, was to the Jews. Jesus only healed Gentiles on a few occasions and those were occasions when the faith of those Gentiles was so great that it awed Him and caused Him to accelerate the divine plan of God and minister those outside of the fold of Israel. Examples of this are when Jesus healed the Centurion’s servant (Matthew 8:5-13, Luke 7:1-10) and also when he healed the Syrophoenician woman’s daughter (Matthew 15:24-28).
It should also be noted that Jesus would have caused riots, like Paul, if He would have brought Gentiles in the temple with Him.
Standing with Israel is NOT an option. Stay tuned for Part II, coming soon!
