Lies the Liberal Left Wants YOU to Believe, Part III

This is the third and final installment of Lies the Liberal Left Wants YOU to Believe. If you missed Part I or Part II, you can read them now. And if not, enjoy Part III starting with Lie #6!

LIE #6: The Government Knows What’s Best for You, Your Family & Your Life

This is most widely represented, I believe, in Common Core. In my assessment, and facts as well as common sense will prove this, Common Core will achieve these three ends:

  1. Dumb down our children and prevent them from successfully competing in a global market. Why solve a math problem with 20 or 100 steps when two will do? Read Chapter 8 of Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers and you’ll see why ideas like Common Core are simply ridiculous and a threat to our nation’s future.
  2. Provide the government with unwholesome amounts of information–obtained through unsuspecting, innocent children. As if the government didn’t already have enough information about its citizens, this is a way for them to gain more. Now what happens if a tyrant takes office? What happens when the government decides to continue doing things like auditing Judeo-Christian and conservative groups? What happens when they decide spanking your children, teaching them the Bible, hosting a home church group, etc. is a punishable offense?
  3. Replace parents and guardians as the ultimate decision-makers for your children. “Little” things like intelligent parents no longer being able to help their children with math homework is just another step towards giving the government control over your children instead of you–their God-given stewards. Even the act of writing this article causes me to be labeled as a “right-wing extremist” in the eyes of the Liberal/Progressive left. So what happens when the government decides to take action against it? Can they then remove my [future] children from my home and legally deem me an unfit parent? Can they override my decision to provide my children with home schooling, charter schooling, or private religious schooling? I think you know the answer to this because we’re already seeing it in the news are far as homeschooling is concerned.

Many people in education and government truly believe our children are theirs. That parents are only the custodians who feed them and put a roof over their head. These school incidents are a byproduct of this ‘we know best’ philosophy. They believe they have the authority to do this. If people were more complacent, which is hard to imagine, it’d be even worse. (William Baer, former attorney and concerned parent recently arrested at a school board meeting)

The government does NOT know what is best for your children. Parents may not be perfect and there will always be a few bad apples in the bunch, but by and large, parents–not the government–know what is best for their own children.

LIE #7: Staunch, Bible-Believing, Living, Voting & Acting Christians Are a National Threat

As alluded to in the last point, many Judeo-Christian groups, organizations, and ministries are being audited by the IRS for no reason other than their spiritual beliefs. Now are there some ministers out there pimping their people for financial gain? ABSOLUTELY. Yet does that include every minister? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

As Christians, we should already walk and live circumspectly; after all, judgment begins in the House of God (I Peter 4:17). However, now more than ever, we should seek to walk circumspectly. Keep our bank accounts and tax filings circumspect. You never know who will be next. If Dr. Ben Carson, world-class surgeon and medical miracle-worker, can be audited for speaking truthfully and openly at the National Prayer Breakfast and ordered to apologize to the president (which he, of course, did not), then anyone can be targeted.

Some unwise Christian who made a movie poor movie about Islam and Muhammad was blamed–and imprisoned–for “causing” the Benghazi situation. Really?? The POTUS even stated,

Yet he allows the slander of God and the snubbing of His modern-day prophets and preachers. Religion isn’t the only means through which the president seeks to “divide and conquer” the people, yet it is certainly one of his main methods.

There are those who would say there is no attack on Christianity, but they would be wrong. The attack, to those who are comfortable, is subtle, but the results have been devastating. It started with the replacement of our largely Christian education and moral system with that of secular humanism. Humanism opened the door to atheism and the removal of prayer from our schools in the 60s. In the 60s and 70s, we saw the outburst of free love and in ‘73, the passing of Roe vs. Wade, legalizing the slaughter of innocent children in our nation. In the 90s we saw the outburst of the AIDS epidemic, and now we have the machine of homosexuality and its perverse family (i.e. lesbianism, bisexuality, cross-dressing, transgender procedures, pansexuality, polyamoury, etc.) at work. None of these situations have gone away. Instead, they become “normalized” by society, desensitizing us all to what God and His Word really say and really feel about the subject(s).

There are good democrats just as there are good atheists, good Muslims, and even good witches. People can be nice and friendly, they can love people and strive for the best, they can have good motives in their heart. But if their heart is not the heart of God, then their efforts will be in vain. A person may be a “good” liberal, Muslim, or witch but everything they believe is more likely than not against God. We cannot say we love God and vote in politicians who actively support the slaughter of innocent children. We cannot say we love God and be silent or passive on the issue of gay marriage. We cannot say we love God, yet remove a parent’s incentive to provide for their children when the Word says he who doesn’t provide for their own is worse than an infidel (KJV). Jesus said,

If you love Me, keep My commandments. (John 14:15)

Let’s not be the fake type of Christian who confesses Christ with His lips, but crucifies Him again with our life. Let’s be the real thing.
