Of Prophets and Kings

MosesMeetsRamses

In times past, biblical and historical, kings of old had a prophet of some sort to assist them in making their decisions. King David had the prophets Samuel, Nathan, and Gad to assist him. Ahab had Elijah (when he was willing to heed his words). Kings Nebuchadnezzar, Darius, and Cyrus had Daniel. Literature and history show us this too. King Arthur had Merlin. Aragorn had Gandalf. The prophet-king dynamic is a spiritual relationship that works in either direction as we see clearly illustrated with Jezebel and her 850 false palace prophets. Yet can you imagine the benefits of the prophet-king relationship when the prophet planted in the palace commits to speak the Word of the Lord and the king listens?

Prophets may operate in one of two capacities or both if God allows. The first capacity is that of an oracle, one who speaks what God says to him.

Oracle Example:

And it came to pass after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the earth.” (I Kings 18:1 emphasis mine)

The second capacity is that of a seer which is one who speaks what God shows to him.

Seer Example:

Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a branch of an almond tree.” Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am ready to perform My word. (Jeremiah 1:11-12 emphasis mine)

Both are equal prophetic giftings that can reveal the plan of the Lord for a leader, people, or nation. Both are needed in the palace of the governing authorities.

Look at the warnings and victories that came from prophet-king relationships.

  • The General Barak was led to military victory through the prophetic word of Deborah. (Judges Chapters 4-5)

  • The Kings Jehoram and Jehoshaphat were led to military victory through the prophetic word of Elisha. (II Kings 3)

  • Daniel was frequently used to interpret kings’ dreams and deliver imperative words that affected the entire empire. (The Book of Daniel)

The biblical proof of the profitability of prophet-king relationships in undeniable, and I believe that this dynamic relationship is returning to our modern world. This is why.

In these last days, the church will have a prophetic-political voice unlike no other period in the history of this planet. The governments of the earth, through the crises and circumstances that are now being experienced, are going to turn to prophetic counsel as never before….God is raising up prophetic ministries never previously seen on the earth. The earth is witnessing priest-king relationships as in the day of Moses, where the prophets of the Lord walked into the house of many Pharaohs declaring the Word of the Lord. In this hour we will witness this same type of administration.” (Eternity Invading Time by Dr. Renny McLean)

I know there are powerful prophets and apostles who have been blessed to have access to dignitaries and governing authorities such as my spiritual father, Apostle Guillermo Maldonado, as well as Dr. Cindy Trimm, Prophetess Cindy Jacobs, and others. What they are doing is awesome, yet I believe, just as Dr. Renny wrote, that these prophetic-political relationships will greatly increase. This is because the time is short. There is much yet to be done to advance the Kingdom of God in the earth before Christ comes back and the devil is fighting it tooth and nail.

Some of you may think that this is hard to believe, but it is not. Ministers such as Bishop Tudor Bismark and Prophetess Cindy Jacobs walk in governmental anointings that affect the church world as well as the secular world.

It’s time for the kingdoms of this world to become the kingdoms of the Lord and of His Christ (Revelation 11:15)!

Your fervent effectual prayers can make this happen. Ask the God Who holds the heart of the king in the palm of His hand to place true prophets into the lives of the governing authorities and leaders in every capacity. There is nothing He cannot do!
