Gospel Today presents “This Week” explores the topics, people and issues impacting our world from the perspective of faith to answer the question, “How can we live out the Gospel today?”
This week’s “High Points” news section discusses Donnie McClurkin’s recent comments about being uninvited from a DC event, “Reflections on Peace: From Gandhi to King” including a little known comment from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. about same-sex relationships. “This Week” also discusses the upcoming MegaFest and whether the appointment of a 19-year-old as pastor is a good thing.
The discussion topic this week is “How do you spot a personality-driven ministry? Can it be avoided? What are the dangers of a personality-driven ministry?”
Finally, in our “Jukebox” segment, we discuss the changing societal norms for “love songs” as we reflect on the life and memory of Whitney Houston and her hit song, “I Will Always Love You.”
We finish with a note of humor—”I’m Just Sayin’!” where we laugh about the phrase, “I’m called to the nations.” and talk about what does or doesn’t qualify as a multi-cultural ministry. Laugh and enjoy!
