Engage Your Global Community! (GT Connext)

The theme for Gospel Today’s March/April 2012 issue is COMMUNITY. If you’ve read it (and we hope you have!), you’ll see that we defined the term very broadly– reaching from one end of the Earth to the other– a global community.

In the issue’s People Talk section, we highlighted several global conflicts and crises that need your prayer and attention. Here, we list a few organizations and websites for you to put your faith to action.

1. Abolition International.
This nonprofit organization was founded by Christian vocalist Natalie Grant several years ago. It fights against human trafficking in various ways, all with the goal of rescue, redemption and showing the love of Jesus Christ. Visit their official site at http://abolitioninternational.org.

2. Samaritan’s Purse.
This group seeks to follow Christ’s commandments by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. It’s a nondenominational Christian organization that offers relief to victims of natural disaster, war, disease, and famine. Join them by going to their website– http://www.samaritanspurse.org.

3. World Vision.
We know– you hear about sponsoring a child a lot. But the thought of using your resources to literally save a life can never become cliche. World Vision is just one organization that accepts your monthly seed to save the life of children across the world. And it’s more than food– it’s clothing, it’s housing, it’s supplies and, perhaps most importantly, it’s an education. It’s worth it. Support them by clicking here.
