Whether you\’re in the middle of change you didn\’t ask for or fighting for change you want to see come to reality, here are three constants that can help you navigate change.
God\’s Character – Who are we dealing with? Who is God!? It is His pleasure to reveal Himself to us; we only need to seek after Him. Like many of you, I\’ve found Him to be a perfectly loving Father Who is always right, never surprised and always in control. Daily, He is lovingly making me more like Jesus, even when I\’m not that cooperative. He is faithful and we can always trust His heart toward us.
God\’s Word – During times of change turn headlong into the Word of God for direction, peace and confirmation each day.
God\’s Timing – If you dress in January like you did in July, you\’ll quickly realize that the seasons have changed and you\’ll need to adjust. Sometimes life is the same way—you can\’t escape the change so you adjust. Seasons are a part of God\’s world (see Eccl. 3:1).
So, with these last words, I welcome you to the “New Year†and the “New†Gospel Today and I challenge you to make 2012 a year in which you live by Kingdom priorities. God\’s grace (His ability) will be with you every step of the way. How do I know? Because, Jesus\’ last words are as important as His first ones: “I will never leave you…â€
