Beauty Tips: How To Apply Eye Make-Up

Once you have ’em, you’ve got to know how to apply ’em! Here’s some quick tips that will make sure you’re putting your new eye make-up buys to good use!

1. Prep With Concealer.
Use concealer to cover up under-eye circles and any darkness just under your eye. Start at the inner corner– that’s where your skin is often darkest. Apply 3 dots of concealer, evenly distributed across the length of your eye. Don’t rub! Pat it with your ring finger (it’s generally the softest of your digits) until it disappears.

2. Apply your eyeliner.
Line your eyes as close as possible to your upper lashes, starting from the inner corner and moving to the outer corner. Repeat on the bottom of your eyes, but only line from the middle of the eye out. It gives a better effect.

3. Add your eyeshadow.
It’s best to start at your lid and work up to your brow. Use more than one color for best results, and let the colors blend into each other.

4. Curl those lashes!
In the January/February 2012 issue of Gospel Today, we recommended a great eyelash curler. Get it. For a long-lasting effect, try heating the curler under a blowdryer for a couple seconds (just make sure you test it before you apply it– don’t burn yourself!).

5. Apply your mascara.
Don’t just wipe it on, ladies! Put the wand of your mascara brush at the bottom of your lashes, then wiggle it back and forth as you move up the eyelash. Repeat until you have the desired coverage.
