Deitrick Haddon Announces Film Debut

Blessed & Cursed, a new film from Tyscot Records, features the debut of Gospel artist, DEITRICK HADDON. The film also stars actors SHERYL LEE RALPH and DREW SIDORA, along with Gospel artists, J. MOSS, MALI MUSIC, JOREL QUINN, KIERRA SHEARD and IRROC.
The plot is a modern-day portrayal based on the Biblical story of David and Saul. The story line depicts Dwight Hawkins\’ struggle (portrayed by Haddon) to realize his God-given purpose. Dwight must choose between family obligations and pursuing his own dreams of superstardom. Along the way, he gets caught in a diabolical scheme of jeal- ousy orchestrated by the church\’s pastor.

Haddon says that he wrote the script for Blessed & Cursed ($19.95/ 120 minutes) as he was preparing a sermon. “I\’m a pastor now, so I\’m doing more studying than I\’ve ever done in my life,” said Haddon. “I was studying the story of Saul and David and the dynamics within their relationship…this movie just opened up to me.”

Haddon\’s manager, HOLLY CARTER (Releve Entertainment), and Tyscot Records\’ Vice President, BRYANT SCOTT, brought the project to life. This is the legendary Tyscot label\’s first foray into film. Haddon\’s choir, VOICES OF UNITY, provided the basis of the movie\’s soundtrack. The lead single, “Judah (Let Me Hear You Praise),” has already broken through the Billboard\’s Top Gospel chart.
